My Current Role

The sole QA engineer on the RTL Nieuws & Entertainment team at RTL Netherlands. Building and maintaining test automation for web, mobile, the Drupal CMS stack daily with Playwright, Maestro, MCP-connected AI.

My Background

Years of hands-on CMS work combining Drupal migrations, editorial workflows with modern E2E stacks. I understand content platforms deeply and automate them like a product engineer.

My Approach

Automation should be maintainable, fast, and make flows with full validation faster than real user flows. Playwright for web, Maestro for mobile, AI plus MCP to reduce boilerplate without sacrificing rigour. Custom dashboards make quality visible across the team.

QA Engineer

2024 - Present

The sole QA engineer on the RTL Nieuws & Entertainment team. Responsible for the full test strategy, automation suite, quality visibility across web, mobile, the Drupal CMS stack.

Key Highlights

Own the Playwright suite for RTL Nieuws & Entertainment web, covering critical user flows, editorial functionality, platform regression
Automated mobile regression with Maestro and Appium using simulator testing and Firebase cloud consoles for the RTL app
Delivered full-coverage QA for the migration to the new RTL Nieuws & Entertainment platform, including regression, smoke, editorial workflow testing
Integrated MCP-connected AI tooling into daily work to speed up test authoring, documentation, failure triage
Built custom automation dashboards giving the team clear visibility into test coverage and flakiness trends
Expanded CMS test coverage for Drupal platforms across multi-site configurations and content model validations

Started as Drupal superadmin and webmaster for RTL Nieuws & Entertainment, evolving into an automation-focused role covering CMS operations, editorial platform quality, incident management during high-traffic events.

Superadmin for the Drupal CMS powering RTL Nieuws & Entertainment, including user management, content modelling, platform configuration
Owned end-to-end CMS testing for the Drupal 8 to 10 upgrade and the full RTL Nieuws & Entertainment platform migration
Created editorial training programmes and maintained internal CMS quality documentation
Bridged editorial teams and engineering on bug triage, release planning, test coverage gaps
Incident management with PagerDuty during live events and high-traffic platform deployments

Facilitated agile ceremonies for the RTL Nieuws & Entertainment product team while championing quality gates, test automation adoption, clearer Definition of Done standards.
